Thomas Ilka,
Member of the Executive Board, Europe/International Affairs, German Insurance Association (GDV), Berlin

CV: Thomas Ilka studied economics at the University of Kiel, graduating in 1992. He has been a Member of Executive Board, German Insurance Association (GDV) since 2014. Prior to assuming his possition at GDV he worked as a State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Health. Mr. Ilka had worked at  German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) from 1999 till 2011 on various positions, including Director of the DIHK Representation to the European Union and Head of the Department for Europe, the Environment, Energy and Consumer Policy.
 


Peter Baier,
Head of Technical Cooperation, International Policy/Affairs, German Federal Financial Supervision Authority (BaFin), Frankfurt/Main

CV: Peter Baier has been with the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) since 1994, holding various positions, such as Supervision of Life Insurance Companies, Supervision of Non-Life Insurance Companies, including Motor vehicle, Technical Assistance for Eastern Countries in the field of insurance supervision. He currently holds the position of Head of Section International Policy/Affairs ; Technical Assistance focusing on insurance supervision.



Dr. Stefan Pürner,
Head of Section for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia, German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), Bonn

CV: Dr Stefan Pürner, born 22nd of December 1960 in Nürnberg, 1982-1988 study of Law and Slavonic languages in Regensburg, Erlangen and Brno, (then) Czechoslovakia, 1989 - 1990 visiting researcher at the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad, then Yugoslavia (Prof. Dr. Tibor Varady), 1988 - 1992 research assistant at the Chair for Eastern Law in Regensburg (Prof. Dr. Dres. h.c. Friedrich-Christian Schroeder), 1989 nostrification of his Bavarian 1st State exam as Yugoslav Diplome Lawyer, 1992 Doctorate on the Limited Liability Company according to the 1988 Yugoslav Company act, since 1992 attorney at law mainly working related to the former Yugoslav countries, since 2000 missions as long and short-term experts in various projects in the mentioned countries, since 2007 Head of Section at the German foundation for international legal cooperation (Deutsche Stiftung für internationale rechtliche Zusammenarbeit e.V. IRZ) for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia, also coeditor of numerous publications on the Lw of former socialist countries, e. g. co-editor of Handbuch “Wirtschaft und Recht in Osteuropa” (Handbook on Law and Economy in Eastern Europe), Editor in Chief of “Nova pravna revija – časopis za domaće, njemačko i evropsko pravo”, shortly NPR (New legal gazette – Magazine for regional, German and European Law, Sarajevo Belgrade and Evropsko Pravo (European Law), Skopje. Lectures at faculties in various countries.
 



Michael Theilmeier,
Chairman of GDV´s Committee for Central and Eastern Europe, Senior Vice President and Treaty Account Executive, Gen Re, Cologne

CV: Senior Vice President of Gen Re (Business Unit Treaty Europe).Since 2015, he is Chairman of GDV’s Committee for Central and Eastern Europe,
Berlin / Germany.Since 2010, Mr. Theilmeier has been Supervisory Board Member of Atena IT & Financial Services Inc., Sopot / Poland.
From 1987 to 1996, Mr. Theilmeier worked at Gerling Group, Cologne / Germany, last position held: Manager International Marketing. In June 1996, Mr. Theilmeier joined Alte Leipziger Versicherung AG, Oberursel / Germany, where he worked for more than 3 years as General Manager, Industrial Casualty Underwriting.
From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Theilmeier was Member of the Board of Executive Directors of Hestia Insurance S. A., Sopot / Poland. From 1996 – 2001 Mr. Theilmeier was also member of the Board of Executive Directors of Alte Leipziger Europa Beteiligungsgesellschaft AG.
Mr. Theilmeier has Master Degrees in Law and Business Management.
